Welcome
Founded in 1948, Bridge of Weir Choral Society is a group of around 60 singers (SATB) of all ages and abilities from around the Gryffe Valley area.
New members are always welcome to join - especially basses currently! We rehearse in Kilmacolm on Tuesday evenings from September to April and perform 2 concerts each year.
Our Christmas concert is very much part local community's festive season, and we perform a mixture of well-loved Christmas favourites as well as less well-known music. We are joined each year by different musical ensembles and instrumentalists, and have welcomed brass groups, handbell players and local school choirs among others in recent years. Our Spring features larger choral works, again with a balance of choral favourites and less familiar works. A highlight of recent years was a joint performance of Verdi's Requiem in Greenock Town Hall with the Greenock Philharmonic Choir and members of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
